Display industry analyst Ross Young revealed that these are Apple’s first quantum dot displays, using cadmium-free technology—a move that aligns with health and environmental standards. The new screens maintain their Mini LED backlighting and IPS panel foundation, continuing the brightness and contrast levels introduced with the M1 Pro and M1 Max in 2021. However, the M4’s displays deliver even better color gamut and motion performance. According to Blur Busters, known for their precise motion testing, the M4 display’s pixel response is significantly faster, providing a smoother visual experience. This development positions the M4 MacBook Pro as an even more compelling choice for professionals seeking top-tier display technology.
